In real estate, it may be what you can or cannot see, smell, touch, or do not know that can cause issues for you and your clients. This course covers a wide variety of issues Realtors may encounter and need to be aware of so they can handle the sale of a property safely, legally, and ethically. Topics include:

• Radon
• Asbestos
• Carbon Monoxide
• Mold
• Formaldehyde
• Lead
• Meth labs
• Termites
• Buried tanks
• Electric and Plumbing issues
• Flood/water damage in homes
• Fire-damaged homes
• Stigmatized properties
• Predatory neighbors (Megan’s Law)

Your instructor will be Dave Pleskac, a former KC Realtor, real estate talk radio host, TV commentator, and contributing editor to various KC area home magazines. Dave will share many tips he learned from various industry experts who were guest on his radio show and from his personal experiences with the goal of making you aware of the many adverse materials facts and latent defects that may affect real estate transactions so you can better protect and promote the interests of your clients, all the while helping to ensure an ethical and successful outcome.
